The safety of our students is everyone鈥檚 responsibility. Please take extra care when driving and parking near the school. Children can be unpredictable 鈥 slowing down and staying alert can prevent accidents.

Focus of the Week: Parking Around School

Keeping our children safe starts with you! It鈥檚 about our children鈥檚 safety and our community鈥檚 values.

Let鈥檚 all work together to make drop-off and pick-up times safe and stress-free.

Please remember to:

  • Slow down and be patient in school zones 鈥 children are nearby and can move unexpectedly.
  • Be patient 鈥 a few extra minutes can make all the difference.
  • Plan ahead 鈥 leave home a little earlier to avoid rushing.
  • Arrive early so your child has time to walk safely to class and start their day calmly.
  • Park further away on nearby streets and walk the rest of the way.
  • Follow the directions of our traffic management team 鈥 they are there to keep everyone safe.
  • Do not double park or block other vehicles 鈥 it blocks visibility, endangers kids, and causes inconvenience to others.
  • Never stop in the middle of the road to let children in or out of the car 鈥 it is illegal, extremely dangerous, and interrupts traffic flow.
  • Use designated drop-off and pick-up areas 鈥 quick goodbyes, then move on. This helps to keep traffic flowing.
  • Be alert for pedestrians 鈥 especially small children who may be hard to see between cars.
  • Avoid using your phone while driving.
  • Be respectful to staff, students and other parents 鈥 we鈥檙e all part of the same community.

School Zones are for SAFETY, not shortcuts!
